What To Bring

Clothing – Shorts, skirts, tee-shirts, tank tops, bathing suits and flip-flops are about all you need (you do not need to pack high heels, if you want something more fancy bring comfortable wedges or nice flats). Bring a pair of long pants if you plan to spend any time at higher elevations, hiking shoes or old sneakers and a rash guard if you plan to do much surfing.

Other – Sunglasses, sun hat, camera, binoculars, walking shoes or strap sandals, beach towel, Spanish dictionary and flashlight or headlamp if you plan to take night walks. You will also need mosquito repellent.

Documents – Make copies of your passport to carry with you (leave the original in your hotel). Print out and bring any other travel documents you have or useful travel info you think you might need.  Your passport will need to have AT LEAST 6 months remaining on it to enter Costa Rica.  Meaning that if you plan on leaving to the USA/ARG on March 21 your passport will need to expire AFTER September 21, 2015.

Drivers License – If you are renting a car or quad a valid US drivers license is all that is needed.

American Dollars – For our USA guests, there is no need to change your money before the trip.  All local businesses in Nosara accept (and prefer) US dollars.  It is a good idea to have small bills the day you travel into Costa Rica, so you have some tipping money or small bills for a soda or snack should you need it before you get to Nosara.

Extras – Some things, like sunscreen and aloe vera lotion, are very expensive here. If you have a brand you like and can get it before you come, do it. You will DEFINITELY need lots of sun protection here. If you have room in your suitcase or board bag, bring a sun umbrella too.

Please do NOT bring physical or monetary gifts for the wedding couple to Costa Rica.  If you are providing a gift, please do so in the United States so it stays safe and we can travel home without issue!
